Stay in (doll) bed weather.

This dolls bed was hidden under other things in a charity shop. I was able to buy it for almost nothing and the woman in the shop was glad she finally sold it! Well, this bed made my day!!! I'm so happy I found it.

It is quite heavy, solid and has its original paint. It looks old to me and so nice to display doll quilts of course!

There is a bottom made out of board with small holes in it. So I made a mattress and found an old doll pillow and self made doll quilt in my closet.

 
The little quilt on this bed is this one. The pattern is called: 'hidden nine patch or disappearing nine patch'
It is a fun and easy pattern to work with.


I made this doll  from a Tilda book in january 2010. Her body fabric is stretchy so she is a little bit bigger than she is supposed to be but that is all right with me.

And even if you are awake you would want to stay in this bed with a good book ;)

klosjes en ' disappearing ninepatch' quiltje.

Hier zijn de nieuwe klosjes van deze week. In totaal maakte ik er 14. Deze vier zijn van een nieuw stofje. De andere zijn van al eerder gebruikte stofjes gemaakt. Wel saai maar ze zijn al gesneden dus moet ik ze wel afmaken.

These are the 14 'klosjes' of this week. The first 4 are from new fabrics and the others are made from the fabrics I already cut.


Kort geleden zag ik op het blog van Sue Anne een quilt met een disappearing nine-patch patroon. Na de uitleg van Sue Anne ben ik het gelijk gaan maken en het is nu al af! Ik ben er erg blij mee. Het is ook de eerste quilt die ik na het wassen in de droger gedroogd heb en met het resultaat ben ik erg tevreden.

Not long ago I saw a quilt with a disappearing ninepatch which Sue Anne made and she explained to me how to make one. I liked working on it and it is already finished! I am very happy with it. It was also the first quilt i put in the dryer and it worked out well.

Eerst maakte ik nine patches en daarna sneed ik ze in vieren.
The first step was to make nine patches and then cut them all up in 4 pieces.



Daarna kan je ze op allerlei manieren weer aan elkaar naaien.Wel heb ik steeds het middelste blokje donker gemaakt.Hier is het quiltje klaar!
After cutting up you can sew them up together the way you want it. I used a dark fabric for the centerpiece of the nine patch. And here you see my finished quilt in the garden!
