After last week's  first block  I was sold.....I had to make more....

Dit was het eerste blok...

 This is mumber one..

 Dit is nummer twee...

Number two..

Number three..........Nice to see how big the difference is between cold blocks and this warm block. I learn from every quilt by choosing between light/dark and cold/warm contrasts, but especially from working on thisquilt.

I finished this fourth block today.....And there will be more blocks I'm sure. Maybe I will make the quilt 9 blocks in total? It also depends on my fabric stash;)
And in the evening when I want to sit with my legs on the sofa, I like to work on this project from the book Feathering the nest of Brigitte Giblin . I only noticed thea when I started I didn't look at her measurements in the book. My hexagons are 1/4 inch big and hers are 1 inch big at the sides. So my top is much smaller. I filled the corners with the colours from the hexagons in the middle. I like it much better this way, before it looked more like 7 blocks who didn't belong together. I hope to work on the first border this afternoon. I will come back to you when it is finished.

All of these are so beautiful! Your pine burr blocks are like little quilts all by themselves. Your hexie project is delightful too!

Prachtige blokken.

I love your pine burr blocks! I have an old historical picture of one of these quilts but not from Alabama. I will have to read up on it again. I have always wanted to use this block as a big fluffy bedroom rug with soft soft fabrics! Love your colors and perfect circles! I also love your hexie block. So beautiful! Can't wait to see more!!
