Diamond border 'Love Entwined' (2) and summery knitting (breirol)
Today I hope to make the last piece of the diamond border of Love Entwined. And I have to make the corners.
It was quite a big job. At first I tried templates but left the drawing lines around the templates. It's only a matter of millimeters but it did not fit. Pulling of the freezer paper was disturbing the fabric (I used woven fabric). So I started again. Now making one fabric out of strips, working very precisely. I ironed a strip template of Floriani (wash and fusible) on the back.
Here is the front of the fabric. I than cut out the strip 4 times.
To make it possible to have all the pieces on the right place I printed the pattern on 'see through paper' (is this English?) Big lines are transferred with Sewline white pencil and basting thread.
I folded all the edges and cut away fabric in some places to be ready to start the applique.
breirol en deze hierboven lag in een mandje te wachten. Af en toe brei ik er nu weer een stukje aan. Het patroon vind je hier.
A while ago I already made a knitting roll (in Dutch a ' Breirol'). This one was waiting in a basket. Now and than I knit a piece. You can find the pattern here.
The colours are perhaps not what you would expect for a knitting roll. I just used the cooton I halready had in my closet. I like the bright colours and it feels like summer doesn't it?
Have a nice day,
