My second doll quilt from Quilt it & Dotty is nearly finished. This one is a little bit bigger than the first one.
Making all the triangles and using the exact 1/4 inch seam allowences was a good practise for me. When the top was finished and everthing fitted together I was happy it worked out so well . Now only the quilting has to be done.
This picture shows how tiny the little triangles are. I used a 1/4 inch seam allowence. Normally I prefer using o,5 cm seam allowence, but the whole pattern was in inches so I didn't want to change that.

This summer my quiltgroup and I finished a quilt( I told about it in april im this blog) we donated for a lottery. This lottery was held in the end of october to raise money for homeless children in Kathmandu, Nepal. This project was started by a lady called Lies Vink who did this after she finished working( pension)! During one day there was a lot of money raised for that same cause and they made about 6500 euro's in one day! We did 500 euro's with the 12 ladies of our quiltgroup and we are very happy with the result. The lady who won the quilt donated it to Lies Vink to take it to Kathmandu. Very kind gesture I think.
In about two weeks time the ladies of my quiltgroup and I are starting to make a new quilt for a good cause(or maybe more then one). I have a lot of fabrics with bigger prints like animals and tedybears laying in my closet and I hardly use them. So I started cutting them in squares to make one or two ragtime quilts. I'm looking forward to make them. It would be fun and it is nice to know that it is for a good cause.
Have a good weekend,
Groetjes
